Smelly Mobile Phones

Posted by aranate on December 2, 2007

Sometimes ago there was all talk about smell generating devices to be used in cinemas. I was wondering if the same device could be used in mobile phones in order to smell your sweetheart or to as a protection against phones being stolen (when stolen it would create awful smell so that the mobile phone could no longer be used).

  1. well one of my ideas I never got going so it’s all yours is to buy about 30-40 different types of base perfumes and since the smell of things is so complicated and refined compared to taste etc that one could easily say you would make each customer their own depending on if they like citrus or mellon etc etc (or the original incense from our zoroastrian bretheren from years ago ha ha) – say when a girl gets married or a first date she orders a small bottle from you – you simply log the formula used and she can write back on her 50th wedding anniversary for that special smell and since hopefully she has been disciplined in not opening up the time box/smell/memories it will greatly enhance her 50 th wedding and so on an so forth with some people trying different blends on different days and it could become quite complex but easy for you to do because of the internet and youtube excell/quattro and all you could have an experience area and much more I think – but I don’t think yet they are ready for that machine that can make small on chip varieties of smells from a few basic molecules but I know they have been trying but seems too hard that way and it is supposed to be subliminal but subliminal smells may not work any better than other alleged subliminal “messages” seen or heard (or smelt) – make sure you understand what subliminal means – so there you go you are ahead of the pack already
